REN Cleansing Clay Mask Review

Now, this for me is definitely a HOLY GRAIL product! This product claims to 'Deeply cleanse and purify, Gently exfoliate and unclog skin, and Minimise the appearance of pore size'. It definitely does all of this and I always make sure to use this on days when I decide not to wear make up as it really does shrink your pores which is a MUST for myself as I do have large pores.

I decided to buy this after a Lily Pebbles video on YouTube and purchased this for £18 off the REN website which also allowed you to choose two sample size product of any other REN products which is fantastic as you can try before you buy!

It is recommended not for those who have sensitive skin, however, as I have sensitive skin I haven't experienced anything uncomfortable, only that when applying this over the face, one feels a slight warming sensation across the face which is quite a nice feeling.

I use this every two days which I either wash with lukewarm water or with a wash cloth. I use only a pump and I am very happy with this product as I haven't had any breakouts for months and I believe this product has aided towards my skin being spot free. I highly recommend this product :)

 What's On My Face #2

So, on this particular day, I went for what is my current everyday makeup look, for those days when I do wear makeup. Initially, I began with my Prep & Prime, Face Protect Visage by Mac, which mattifies my face but also gives me a good sunscreen of SPF50.

Then, I apply Nars 'Sheer Glow' Foundation, which is my absolute favourite foundation, in the middle of my face because that's where I feel I need more coverage in that specific part of my face. It leaves a lovely glow on the face as the name suggests and I highly recommend this product as I am always getting compliments when I wear it.

After, I apply Maybelline 'Instant Age Rewind' concealer, as it was hyped all over Youtube, soI had to try it out so it  is a new purchase and I really like it, it is medium-full coverage, covers dark circles and stays put all day.

I fill my eyebrows with Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Medium Brown, very lightly just to cover sparse areas, and it's a lovely drugstore product as it does the job nicely.

I finish off with some MUA bronzer to slightly contour and on top of this I apply Nars Blush in Gina, which is a lovely Coral matte blush. Apply lashes of Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara and slightly fill in my lips with a neutral lip colour and my face is complete! :)

REN 'GLYCOLACTIC RADIANCE RENEWAL MASK' REVIEW.

Hi guys, so this product has been raved about from so many Beauty Bloggers that I just had to have a go as it promises for radiant and glowy skin, so I decided to order a sample off the REN website to check out what the hype was about.

Firstly, it is yellow/orange in colour and smells divine (says it smells like Papaya). You are told to leave it on for 10 minutes and wash off. Having done this, it definitely does leave fresh, radiant glowy skin. However, I would say this is not for oily skin as it does sometimes look a bit greasy as mine did as my skin is combination oily during this Summer.

I think for Winter, personally this would be best suited for my skin type as my skin would be more drier then but if your skin is geared toward the more drier end , definitely try this out as it leaves your skin soft, supple and well nourished.

Overall, I would say try out a sample first because having done this, I don't think I would be rushing out to purchase a full sized bottle just because my skin is sightlier oilier than usual. :)

NARS BLUSH IN 'GINA'.

This is by far my favourite blush I have ever touched, used, everything hahaa....

Firstly, it is of a Orange colour rather the pink that is being shown above, and because of my crappy phone picture quality is does not do this blush any justice so please check out the Nars website for better quality pics.(http://uk.spacenk.com/Blush/MUK101030288,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_MUK101030288_color=UK101030288&start=5&cgid=Nars%20Cosme)

The blush also has good longevity as it stays on for quite a long time and you get 4.8g for £21.50 which is quite a bit as it will probably last a long time. It is matte which I prefer as you can apply highlighter above if you desire. It is also quite pigmented so a light hand would be wise when applying.

Overall, I am very satisfied with this blush and can see myself purchasing more of Nars' blushes. Thank you for reading and please hit 'FOLLOW' if you enjoyed reading! xx

CREST WHITENING STRIPS!!!

Just no. A BIG FAT NO!

Why? You may ask...Well, my dear readers, it is because it simply does not work and leaves your teeth uber sensitive and just in complete pain you have to go to sleep just to avoid the pain. I'm not even exaggerating people, t'is the truth.

I ordered just the one satchet off of ebay for £3.50 because they are quite pricey otherwise and within the satchet are two clear plastic sheets to apply over your teeth, one for your top set and one for the lower set.

Along with this, I also received a sheet with instructions and frequently asked questions from people and upon the sheet it stated, 15 mins use for gentle routine for stains, 30 mins for vivid whitening for vivid stains and 2 hours for Intensive Professional Whitening.

Like a hero, I only went and decided to leave the strips on for 2 hours and when I took them off, they looked slightly brighter but not whiter and left my teeth extremely sensitive and painful which for that reason alone, I will not be purchasing the actual kit and be looking for other alternatives.

HIGHLIGHT THAT FACE GIRLFRIEN'!!!

Ok, so now that the Sun is shining on us on this warm afternoon, what more than a beautiful highlight swept above the cheekbones, down the bridge of the nose and above the cupid's bow to create that stunning, natural, dewy look.

Today the three highlighters that shall be discussed are:

  1. MAC's Strobecream
  2. Topshop's 'Glow' Highlighter
  3. Sleek's 'Face Contour and Highlighter' Duo

1.) Mac's Strobecream £22.50 (left side of my hand) is a pinky coloured highlighter which when blended into the skin gives a lovely sheen upon the face. It can be used before application of your foundation or after applying your foundation on certain areas of the face, such as top of your cheekbones and above the bridge of your nose. Another amazing part of this highlighter is it can also be mixed with your foundation for a luminous look. My personal opinion is it is best suited for combination (more to drier side of skin) or dry skin.

2. Topshop's 'Glow' Highlighter £9.00 (middle swatch on my hand) is a gold highlighter and for those who wish for a more obvious highlight as it is very pigmented. It blends very easily as it is of a whipped texture so it is very soft and again leaves a very luminous look.

3.) Sleek's 'Face Contour and Highlight' Duo £6.49 (third swatch on my hand above) is a very hyped product which many of us beauty junkies all have. The highlighter is very natural looking and it is in a powdered form so for those with more oilier skin will maybe prefer. This is also a goldy' finish on the skin and for £6.49 you can't really go wrong!

Overall, they are all such beautiful highlighters, however my favourite would be Topshop's Glow Highlighter as it is very pigmented and blends very well. Thank you for reading and please hit 'FOLLOW' if you enjoyed reading. :)

ILLAMASQUA EYESHADOW & PRESSED PIGMENTS REVIEW

So, recently on Twitter, Illamasqua had reached 50,000 followers and to celebrate such a focal event, they only went and had a 50% off everything sale on their online website!

Suddenly, my brain started functioning and telling me to buy some of their eye shadows, because if you know me, you'll know I do love me some eye shadows, plus, I have never actually used any Illamasqua products before and thought now is my chance!

So, I opted to purchase the colours 'Feint' in the Powder Eye Shadow which is a warm, pinky brown colour and 'Fervent' in Pure Pigment which is a reddy brown but in certain lights appears green or blue and is insanely glittery! Both are also ridiculously pigmented that literally a tap of the product is all you need.

Here are links of Illamasqua's website which provides swatches as well:

Emma Hardie 'amazing face' Cleansing Balm

Now, I've always been an avid reader of reading blogs in general but when it comes to skincare, Caroline Hiron's blog is the one. She writes that the best cleanser type is a 'balm' cleanser which can be used for all skin types and that this cleanser in particular is amazing.

Emma Hardie's Cleansing Balm has swept the blogger field off their feet with its rich and luxurious feel to the product which along with a face cloth, (4 for £1 from Primark!) removes every inch of your make up, along with all other grime AND leaves your face baby soft, literally. Another bonus is this cleanser can be used around your eyes to removes you eye make up which to me is great!.

This cleanser is £34 so it is on the higher end of life, but like Caroline Hiron says in her latest video with the Pixiwoo sisters (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3tRjufnWr8) that if you can spend such an amount of money on bags and shoes you don't really need, why not spend it on something that will actually work and ultimately help your skin?

This cleanser has definitely helped moisturize the drier areas of my face and I have not broken out to it however I have had two abnormal allergic reactions to something I am using so fingers crossed it's not this!

Finally, I am still on the lookout for cheaper alternatives which effectively do the same job, so what cleansers do you use? And are they buttery soft in application?

NARS SHEER GLOW REVIEW!!

So, if like me you have never actually owned your own 'proper' Foundation and have combination skin i.e. Oily as well as Dry skin, then fear not, Nars 'Sheer Glow' Foundation is for you. And yes, I am well aware I am behind the crazy bandwagon which has swept Beauty Bloggers and Youtubers off their feet regarding this foundation but better late than never, eh?

Initially, this foundation states it is "a glowing, satin-finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage that immaculately evens skin tone", all of which I agree, it even leaves a velvety finish upon your skin.

What's more, is this foundation even claims it has skincare benefits through using it daily; improving the skin's brightness and texture through the Tumeric extract in this foundation, which is probably the reason for it being so pigmented.

It claims it is for normal, normal-to-dry and dry skin types however many Youtubers including 'Pixi2woo' and 'Gossmakeupartist' have claimed otherwise since it leaves a semi dewy finish and an be used for combination skin types as well and can be powdered through the centre of your face if you wish.

Finally, this product is 'high end' so it is quite expensive and retailed at £30.50 but definitely worth it since it leaves a healthy finish and doesn't even look like your wearing foundation and the sizing is 30ml, so probably going to last you a very long time.

Here's a link of myself applying this foundation:

REVIEW: La Roche-Posay -Effaclar Duo (or Effaclar FRICKIN' DO NOT!!)

Firstly, let's see what is said about this particular product:

EFFACLAR DUO Corrective and Unclogging Anti-Imperfection Care helps reduce the appearance of imperfections and purifies pores. Effaclar Duo is a complete skincare solution that combines 4 active ingredients to act on the 2 major signs of skin with imperfections. Niacinamide and Piroone Olamine help reduce severe local imperfections by purifying the skin and protecting against breakouts developing. The LHA/Linoleic Acid combination helps unclog pores by eliminating dead cells responsible for their obstruction. These active ingredients are combined with soothing and anti-irritating La Roche-Posay thermal spring water.
Pores are purified, and imperfections appear reduced. Skin looks smoother and clearer. It appears to regain a long-lasting balance to help recover the qualities of more healthy-looking skin.
Effaclar is the complete solution adapted for all types of imperfection prone skin. Naturally hyperactive sebaceous glands produce an excess amount of sebum. The skin tends to become shiny. Under the influence of environmental variations, sebum can oxidise and stimulate sebaceous glands even more. The pores get blocked and imperfections may appear.

So, one day whilst browsing through Boots and stumbling across the infamous French brand, 'La Roche-Posay' aisle, I remembered 'Effaclar Duo' which has all beauty bloggers praising its spectacular results. So,I thought why not give it a go as this could cure me breaking out like a maniac!

But lo and behold after using this for two weeks, possibly longer it left my skin even more spottier and after stopping its usage, I am still breaking out! I suffer from repeat odd breakouts around my jaw and chin and after watching several reviews on Youtube, I thought I'd give it a chance but this has definitely made me think twice before purchasing any more of their products.

It has definitely not treated my pigmentation and slight acne prone skin and instead done the exact opposite. It is priced at £13.00 and I definitely think what a waste a money.

As you can see it is a white clear substance but when smoothed over it is a clear substance with a light perfumed smell. But overall, if you are looking to purchase this, read up on it before hand and here is the link which you can find out a bit more about it.

What's On My Face #1

So I have been meaning to update my blog for such a long time but due to so many things going wrong with my laptop, phone etc, I was unable to do so, but now that I can, why not get things rolling with a 'What's on my face', blog post, which will be the first of many, so you'll probably get sick of seeing my face after a while!

Yes, I am aware I am looking a bit of a plain Jane but this is an old 'ish picture I had lurking around and this is what I wear on an "I can't be bothered but need to put something on my face", kind of day.

1. Maybelline 'fit me' foundation. (220) (Great lightweight foundation with a light consistency, just not available in my colour, this colour is actually slightly dark for me).
2. Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer (medium).
3. 'Buck' e/s from the Urban Decay 'Naked' Palette for the brows.
4. Maybelline 'The Falsies' Mascara.

Best primer ever for ALL SKIN TYPES!

Hey guys, so I have been meaning to write more posts recently but I just couldn't think of what to do, but, I have compiled a list of many things to write about and I shall begin by writing of the AMAZING, 'Mac Prep and Prime, Face Protect' which is also a massive SPF50 and does not leave your face greasy but well moisturised. As it is a whopping SPF50, it can be used in Winter in the harsh winds but also in the Summer as to avoid sun damage.

Nevertheless, I purchased this completely on a whim after the lady told me how it basically a miracle worker for us oily skinned gals and I have always suffered from my make up basically disappearing half way into the day, so I thought, why not?

I have used many primers such as the overly hyped Benefit 'pore-fessional' primer, which is definitely not worth the hype and many others but they have never done anything significant for my skin, so when I tried this, I was pleasantly surprised in that my make up stayed on and I hadn't wasted my money on something that didn't work.

The finish of this product is semi-matte and slightly dewy which I love because there's nothing worse than an uber matte face which to me, just looks chalky and natural dewyness just leave the skin looking well polished and as I said natural.

I do think this would be a re purchase because it literally does not allow your make up to move which is incredible. Only downside is it is retailed at £22.50 for only 30ml, however, saying that, a little does go along way and I just love it!

If you fancy purchasing this or just having a look see on this, it can be purchased from:

CURRENT SKINCARE ROUTINE!!

Hey guys, so whilst taking a break from dreaded revision I thought why not write up a new blog post? I decided to write about my current skincare routine since it has changed quite a bit, and most of it has been Origins products, simply because I'd like to try newer products and testing whether 'higher end' products are actually better than cheaper alternatives.

So without further ado, I initially begin in the morning by wiping my face with a hot flannel to open my pores and then apply 'A Perfect World', Antioxidant cleanser with White Tea, which is shown below. This is a foamy face wash which cleanses the skin really well, it reaches deep into the skin to help detoxify and free skin of any impurities.
'A Perfect World', Antioxidant Cleanser with White Tea

Secondly, I apply 'Never a Dull Moment', which is shown below. It is a scrub that brightens the skin with the help of fruit extracts such as Papaya, finely ground Apricot and Mango seeds which gently exfoliates and polishes the skin leaving it radiant, and believe me it actually does!
'Never a Dull Moment', Skin Brightening Face Polisher with Fruit Extracts.

Thirdly, I apply 'Modern Friction', (shown below) but only twice a week as this is akin to dermabrasion, but a lot more gentle. It really helped me get rid of my excessively dry skin and left it supple and smooth as opposed to what it was before. It literally is a miracle in a bottle, it helps with dark spots and discolouration and for those with dry skin because of this dreadful weather be sure to check this out, Origins do give out samples so you can always try before you buy.

'Modern Friction', Nature's gentle dermabrasion.
Lastly, I apply toner and moisturise with Body Shop Hemp Body Butter (shown below), which is uber moisturising and provides round-the-clock hydration. You can use this on your body but I wouldn't use this under my make up as it is quite greasy but for lounging at home whilst revising, I don't see why not?
Hemp Body Butter

So folks, this is my current skincare routine. Hope you enjoyed this post xoxo
