It's All A Sahara Haze...

Every now and then I love to sport something other than a neutral shade on my eyes. I usually alternate between soft golds, coppers or rose golds. But just recently, I have fallen in love with GREEN. Yes, you heard correctly! A green eye shadow shade worn on somebody with brown eyes especially. will instantly cause brown eyes to appear more honey like and brighter.

Also, when I say green I meant softer, olive greens for day wear but I have been know to wear a bold, emerald shade in the evening when I feel extra snazzy!

I was playing around with make up on my friend yesterday and I wanted to try a green make up look so I opted for the Tom Ford 'Sahara Haze' palette because it has slowly become my recent obsession. Even the name sounds so enticing! As you can see in the palette there is  a beige shade which actually has a hue of green which I applied in the inner corner. I then applied the grey and the deep green with gold accents in the crease and inner and outer corner and I pressed the glittery green in the centre of the eye to open the eyes on my friend.

This palette is definitely a silent but deadly palette haha, because it doesn't necessarily look very wearable but it creates a different alternative to a brown or gold smokey eye and it does all the work for you, as all the eye shadows are buttery soft (cliche blogger analogy) and blend effortlessly!

This was the completed look and I am actually quite impressed with the overall look, it's sophisticated yet sexy which is everything this palette is.

What do you think? What are your under rated eye shadow palettes which not a lot of people rave about?

The ULTIMATE make up setting spray!!

Does your make up crack,  fade or just look completely different from how it looked in the morning DESPITE using a primer?! Well, I have the solution for you girls! It is the UD 'All Nighter' Make Up Setting Spray!

(Also guys, what do you think of my attempt at flat laying? Is that even a word lol?!)

Back to the product itself, this setting spray is absolutely amazing. I hate to be cliché, but I genuinely believe this product to be of holy grail status. Whenever I am at work my make up always ALWAYS cracks and fades away on my both sides of my chin which as you can imagine is the biggest annoyance when you just want your make up to just stay on. I would set my make up with a truck load of powder and even with a minimal amount and my foundation would always slip off.

I had heard rave reviews of these setting sprays and I have even tried the 'De slick' version of their setting spray but it didn't make any difference to the longevity of my make up. That is until I tried this spray and it genuinely makes such a difference!

I cannot recommend this product enough! What is your favourite setting spray and why? Especially for those with combination oily skin types. xx

Make Up I Have Repurchased!

I have never repurchased a make up product. To be 'pretty honest', haha I have never found anything to be quite amazing to hazard a repurchase, especially a base product.

Like everyone else, finding a foundation that works for your skin type, skin tone and everything in between is like finding a needle in a haystack; its frustrating and a very long process. If you have been reading my blog for a while, you'll already know I have the world's annoying skin, it's combination oily and I can look like an oil slick by the end of the day.

After wearing this foundation everyday till it finished lol, I can safely say I really do love this foundation. It is the perfect shade for my skin tone, I wear '031 Sand', and it lasts an average of 6-7 hours and is so lightweight you can barely feel this on the skin.

To set this foundation, my favourite powder is the Laura Mercier translucent powder. This was my first EVER "high end" make up item I had ever purchased and it had lasted me about 3-4 years! After it had finished I purchased a Mac powder which caused the ugliest flashback which I detested and knew I had to repurchase this amazing powder. It sets my make up flawlessly and allows my make up to stay on all day! It really is the best powder!

What make up have you re purchased and why?

A False Pretence.

As the moon glistens and the sun shine
Dwindles into emptiness

And the tree branches crackle and fray
The leaves crunch and swish
You feel the ice cool winds greet you
to say
hello.

In the background you hear a fox growl
and coon
And the frost stroke your body
Limb by limb
Head to toe.

Toes curl and hairs standstill.

He then laughs
He plays
He destroys
He toys
He grins
He spins

At your dismay

At your weakness.

Your body shivers.

What a cold world.
A torturous being.

Have I caused this doing?
Is this of my doing?

A crime to feel
But why do we feel
If feeling nothing, is nothing at all...

My New Spring/ Summer Tom Ford Fragrances!

For as long as I can remember I have not owned a fragrance, I have never seen the importance and believed it was just an extra purchase one had to make.

But fragrance is so much more than that added product in your shopping basket, Fragrance has the power to capture memories, make you feel brighter and happier and it is an instant mood enhancer; from when you feel run down and tired, a tiny spritz of your favourite scent can make a world of difference.

So when I received the NEW Tom Ford fragrances I wanted to let you know just how distinct and enticing the new Spring/ Summer fragrances are.

My most favourite of the two is the 'Soleil Blanc' private blend. A new white coloured bottle with a gold name plaque which looked so beautiful I had to try it. It is a very warm and transportive scent as it is very reminiscent of summer, holiday and remote private islands where one day blends into the next. Key ingredients include Bergamot, Cardamom, Pistachio, Ylang Ylang and Coco De Mer Accord. I will be wearing this scent when I want a deeper and stronger scent and definitely in the evening.

This scent reminds me of drinking a pina colada in the Caribbean

The second fragrance is the 'Neroli Portofino Acqua', which is a lighter scent of the original Neroli Portofino. It smells very fresh and vibrant and quite a seductive scent. A very clean and crisp scent with notes of Tunisian neroli, bergamot, sicilian lemon and lavender. It isn't as long lasting as the Soleil Blanc but for day to day I find that something light is ideal for me.  And how stunning are these bottles, they're the perfect travel scent and so cute for your handbag as well!

Both fragrances will be coming out during Spring/Summer 2016 and will be able to purchase from selfridges.com.

Make Overs on my friends!

Every now and then, I enjoy applying make up on others. Despite working in beauty retail, I wouldn't class myself as a make up artist since I don't apply make up on others but I genuinely have a passion for make up.

Make up not only has the power to alter features, provide symmetry but also is the biggest mood enhancer. Well, it is for me and I love how a 'client' feels after a makeover.

On this particular day, I called two of my friends over who I usually do make up on as I know there faces so well.

On my first friend Rukaya, we went for a burgundy smokey eye with a dramatic wing line as she loves the bold and glamorous look. I am quite proud of my wing liner skills on somebody else as I do believe achieving the perfect wing line on some one else is the hardest thing everrrrr. My tip would be to work on wing liner on your own face and you will pick up your own technique to achieve the perfect feline flick and you can use that technique on somebody else :)

Rukaya's Make Up details:

  • Bobbi Brown Foundation
  • Urban Decay Naked Concealer
  • ABH contour & highlight
  • Tom Ford 'Teracotta' Blusher
  • Make Up Geek 'Bitten' and 'Grandstand' e/s
  • Kiko gel liner
  • Eye lure lashes
  • Mac 'Whirl' lipliner

On my second friend, Nissba, we went for a soft and classic make up look. We focused on soft, flawless and contoured skin with a copper smokey eye, We opted out of any liner and natural lashes to help define the eyes. This is my type of make up as I tend to wear this type of look often.

Nissba's Make up product details:

  • Dior Forever Foundation '031'
  • Urban Decay Naked Concealer 'Medium Light Neutral'
  • ABH Contour Kit
  • Tom Ford 'Terracotta' Blush
  • Becca 'Champagne Pop' highlight
  • ABH Brow Pomade 'Ebony'
  • Make up Geek shadow in 'Flame' and ABH 'shadow couture' palette
