MakeUp Revolution Haul!

MakeUp Revolution is a brand that I had seen floating around Instagram and YouTube and were apparently very reasonably priced with excellent pigmentation and are kind of the sister brand to MUA, if your from the UK and can be found at your local Superdrug.

I had heard a lot of great things of this brand and since the price of these products ranges between £1-£4, yes, your eyes are not deceiving you, they are really that cheap! So, I thought why not try something out since they are cheap and cheerful and if I don't necessarily like something it's not as if I broke the bank whilst purchasing them.

Here's what I picked up:

A yellow lipstick, for a Celeb inspired video on my YouTube channel. It is nice and creamy and definitely yellow but could be more opaque, but for £1, it is amazing.

(Top) Golden Lights Highlighter and Peach Lights Highlighter. This is one of my favourite products from everything. SO rich, creamy and pigmented AND £3! They are both glittery and quite an obvious highlighter, which I like. I also really like the packaging, they're nice and big haha! Below are swatches.

This guys is an exact dupe for the Stila foil eyeshadows! It comes with an eye primer and a little dish to mix the foil and primer. It is so creamy and opaque and only £4! I chose the colour 'Rose Gold'.

Left: with the solution and Right: without the solution. So pigmented!

Guys, these are £1, I am still in shock because of how pigmented they are. I chose he shades 'Confront' (the pink shade) and 'Disguise' the khaki/greyish shade with gold flecks. They are both uber pigmented, however the pink a lot creamier and so, so cheap!

I purchased these products of www.makeuprevolution.com however you can also purchase them from Superdrug.

Lorac Pro Palette REVIEW!

So I did a boo boo! I wasn't meant to be buying anymore makeup products, but the heart always wants what it can't have...or so they say! Now, I didn't intend to purchase this, I just sort of, stumbled across it on Ebay (I promise). I saw that it was retailing on Ebay for £35 when the original price of this is £60, so obviously it was around the half price mark. I don't even know, I just clicked 'Buy' and didn't really hesitate to buy the palette, I was just feeling spendy that day since if you know me in real life, you know how much I love eye shadows and I can hand on my heart say, the last time I bought an eye shadow was ageess ago, so it was justified, okay, please.

Anyway, the real story behind this is I only managed to spend £23 on this beauty since I had money saved on my PayPal account from my Depop selling ways (sakinahsays-*shameful plug*), so, yes, BARGAIN! In the swatches below, the colour payoff does not seem great at all, however, on the eyes, there is definite colour payoff with good pigmentation (not amazingly GREAT), perhaps because the shades are too similiar to my skintone, they didn't show up on my arm, however it does on my eyes, strange, I know!

Also, the packaging is nice and sophisticated, black and very slim so very easy to travel with, only negative I would say are that the pans of eye shadow themselves are quite small, however, I do appreciate the colour range as they are very neutral and wearable colours.

But, yes, long story short, here are the fancy pics I took :)

Also came with a handy mini primer.

Up close pictures :)

Ultimate Summer Make Up Look- Dewy, Bronzed and glowing skin!

Today, I spent my afternoon filming two videos for my YouTube channel and whilst waiting for the video file to export, I ended up playing with my makeup. I already had my base on, as well as my mascara and a bright lipstick on so I thought I'd have a bit of fun with my eyes and change my lippy, since wearing a nude pinky shade of  lipstick is definitely my forte.

For the eyes, I used my Naked palette which hasn't been feeling the love recently, so I decided to wack this out today. I went for the gold shade on the lid and 'Naked' for the crease, which gives an effortless, everyday eye look which is so easy to re create. I then applied lashes of mascara- Maybelline 'big eyes' mascara + L'Oreal voluminous mascara = thick, full lashes.

For my contour, I used my Real Techniques contour brush and swept under my cheekbones with a generous dusting of Sleek's 'Highlight and Contour' Duo and then applied MUA's blusher in 'Cupcake' (my fave!).

Finally, for the lips I went with Mac's 'Kinda Sexy' lipstick and applied Charlotte Tilbury's lipgloss in 'seduction' over the lipstick for a more dewy look. I didn't powder because I was feeling the whole dewy skin look and I am generally pleased with the outcome. What do you think?

REVIEW: Mac Prep & Prime Highlighter in 'Light Boost'

*Apologies for the flash!*

This particular item has been on my wishlist for so long. I decided to take the plunge and purchase it after seeing so many YouTubers use this highlighter in their videos and it looking incredible. Essentially, it is a highlighter which is used to brighten the face and bring certain areas of the face forwards, i.e. the centre of the forehead, the bridge of the nose, tops of the cheekbones and the top of your upper lip (cupids bow in YouTube makeup terminology lol).

It is of a opaque light yellow colour and is highly pigmented which can be sheered out along with the use of a damp beauty blender or any damp sponge. I really like the effect it gives the face as it bring back structure and dimension back to face since foundation can leave the face looking very flat.

The packaging is simple and easy to use, you just twist the end of the pen and the product dispenses from the brush type applicator on the opposite side. My only negative about this is that it can be quite drying directly under my eyes, even when I have exfoliated and moisturised. So if you have slightly dry skin underneath your eye area, perhaps use less product in that area of your face.

It is priced at £18.00 which is a bit steep, however, this product looks amazing for evening events or wedding and looks great in pictures. I purchased it from my local Mac store and can be also be purchased via their online website-link here :) Also, there are other shades available if you find this colour isn't for you.

Thanks for reading.

(My hands are not this wrinkly lol, I need to change Google settings!)

Bulk Buying- An Ode To Pixi Glow Tonic

Upon realisation that my Pixi Glow Tonic (original review here) had finished after a hefty 6 months of useage, I was initially in no hurry to purchase a new one. It was only after the fourth day of not using this product, I found that my skin was feeling ever so dry and extremely sensitive. *Note*: I randomly have bouts of itchy parts on my face resulting in pink patches usually my forehead as this is the driest part of my face and parts of my cheeks.

However, I can honestly say that this product has definitely helped my skin in terms of the odd itchiness and sensitivity perhaps due to the Aloe Vera contained in this product. Needless to say, I have since bought two more of these from the Pixi website along with a Pixi Lip Balm just so my total was £40 and that I would get free postage and packaging! FYI: One  Pixi Glow Tonic costs £16.00, x 2 = £32.00 + p&p (£4.50) + tax (£5.33) = £41.83.

Also, I find that this product; being a liquid exfoliant is somehow more effective than a regular manual exfoliating scrub. It is definitely a lot more gentle and if anything does a better job since this is the only exfoliant I use which I apply morning and night, even around my eyes after reading Caroline Hirons review of this product.

The packaging of this product has changed and now has no pump, which it did before on the old packaging. I did prefer the old packaging because of the pump, however, the product itself takes precedence over the packaging.

That's all for today and thank you for reading :)

Passionate Pink Lips!

I am obsessed with pink lips! Today I went out with my dear friend, Sobia as I was really down this morning (Uni stress) and definitely needed a pick me up, so off we went doing what girls do best, eat and shop haha!

If you watch my YouTube videos (username: Sakinahsayss, shameful plug!), you'll know I recently went to Paris and I picked up a slightly bright lipstick from Sephora and after having worn it during an outing, I was hooked! Having been an avid nude lipstick wearer for years now and just being stuck in a rut, I decided it was time to venture out and try something new for a change albeit a different lipstick shade.

So here are my latest picks that I have been loving recently:

Sephora Lipstick in 'Sephora Rouge-1st night' :

This is a more corally pink and is appearing slightly orangey than pink, but I assure you it is a pink :)

-Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick in Ping Pong

Hello, wonky lips!

This was brought today after everyone in the bloggersphere has been loving this and thought I'd join the bandwagon and purchase this badboy. It is a beaut! Glides ever so effortlessly on the lips and dries to a matte finish which is not drying on the lips at all...SCORE!

-Maxfactor Colour Elixir in Vibrant Pink

This was also bought today in the clearance section in Boots for £3.49 and this is my favourite pink so far, particularly for an event, party or an occasion. It is a moisturising yet pigmented lip crayon and is so beautiful I want to cry lol and it is more of a neon finish. I cannot wait to wear this out and definitely recommend this! HIGHLY!

-Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in '320 Funtime Fuschia'

This is more of a berry lip shade and is highly moisturising as the line of the lipsticks suggest. Due to my bad lighting in my bedroom the lip shade is slightly deceiving, but is is a berry shade and is easy to wack on in a hurry.

That's all for today, folks and again, thanks for reading. :)

Current Fave Lip Combo!

I have never been much of a 'lip product' girl as I've always reached for eye products especially eye shadow and mascara since they instantly transform your face from drab to fab in seconds...That's what I used to think. Now, I'm all about lipsticks, lip liners and even lip gloss and if you know me, you'll know I have never liked putting anything on my lips as I always thought they accentuated my thin lips.

However, ever since I've learnt to line my lips with a nude lip liner to slightly draw over my lips, enhance them..as you will..haha..I've found that my lips look ever so slightly bigger...hey, the bigger the better, in my opinion. As a result, I am increasingly reaching towards lipsticks when I have 'no make up days' or even when deciding betwen eye shadow or lipstick. Lipsticks instantly brighten your face and allow for your 'no make up days' seem slightly more bearable and generally, your make up over all just comes together ever so nicely.

Anyway, onto the products themselves- Une Lipstick in M08, Charlotte Tilbury Lipgloss in 'Seduction', Barry M Lip liner-'1B1' to add definition and  Loreal Lipliner in 'Honey', which is a nude shade used to cancel the natural pigment of my lips.
